A Life Creating – Paul Mellor
5th – 23rd July 2016
Exhibition content: examples of graphic design, illustration, personal art and photography
Soon after starting work as a compositor in letterpress printing, I realised that to work creating visual items of communication was what I wanted to do for as long as I could. In time I became a commercial graphic artist / graphic designer / typographer and concurrently extended my visual art / craft activity into drawing, painting and photography. All these various visual activities do certainly have a symbiotic connection. However my work in graphics I consider my best and proudest achievement!
Mark Edmonds is an artist based in Cheshire specializing in experimental painting. He uses a combination of paint, resin and texture mediums to create striking and powerful imagery. The ‘Showcase’ exhibition features a varied selection of Mark’s latest work that will serve as a prelude to his future exhibitions. The show will be held at the One One Six gallery in Stoke-on-Trent from the 21st of June to the 25th with a late opening event on the 24th. Mark has strong links to the city after attending University there. The exhibition will give local people a rare opportunity to look at his unique style up close. The exhibition will also feature Mark’s reclaimed artwork project, based on the re-working of mass produced imagery and this will be the first time that much of the work will be on display.
