The Dark Side of the Light touches upon different aspects of loss, aloneness, violence, which often leads to depression. The launch will take place on Friday, 26 of February 2016 and will continue through 12 of March 2016.

Khadijah Sahraoui is a mixed media artist who received her BA with honors in Fine Arts from Staffordshire University and has won numerous awards and exhibited widely. Sahraoui works with sculpture, installation, printmaking, painting and other materials that convey the themes associated with the political climate that is occurring throughout the world, specifically in the Middle East. Sahraoui’s exhibitions have been shown in galleries across England. Three Counties, Open Art Exhibition, Keele University Gallery, where Khadijah was awarded The Barracks Trust Prize for her three works, “Allow Us to Weep in Silence”, “Traumatized in Gaza”, and “Despair”.

Benilda Pacheco Beretta is a NuYorican emerging mixed-media artist living in Albi, France. Beretta was born in Puerto Rico and raised in New York; consequently she identifies herself as a NuYorican. Beretta uses original, found and created imagery to reframe trans-cultural, personal, and universal experiences in ways that can connect to a wider audience. Beretta has various fine arts degrees from multiple nations. She has presented her work including, A Nuyorican Looks Back, Reflections in Words and Images, at Yale University, Penn State University, and School of Visual Arts in New York City.
