This is a very short but first introduction to the new ongoing blog, thoughts and developments by Gallery 116. In this blog post we would like to highlight that the Summer Open Photography Exhibition is now closed for submissions, and we would like to thank all of you that have submitted work to be shown. We are now very excited about the amount and quality of work, and we look forward to sharing it with all of you very soon.
We decided to keep the first Open Exhibition, truly open, and in doing this we aim to show, share, debate and enjoy a diverse mix of photography and images. We wanted to keep this exhibition open because we felt it was more in-keeping with a collaborative and type of independent crowd-sourced exhibition. This is your exhibition and we hope you will be very proud to see your work and share your work on display.
The entry fee is used for materials, prizes and the setup of the exhibition and so without your input and submissions we would not be able to show or run this, and this is why we strongly state, this is your exhibition, we are the facilitators to support photography and camera based image making, and we hope you enjoy it.
The exhibition open evening starts at 6:30pm – 9:00pm Friday 20th June and runs from 21st June – 1st August 2014. Opening times are Thursday, Friday, Saturday 10am – 3pm. Free Entry.
Location for the exhibition is held over two venues, Gallery 116 and the Spode Shop all accessible via the main Spode gates on Church Street and next door to the gallery, Stoke.
More blog posts in the near future… we look forward to seeing you soon.
